Jenny Douglas, under her maiden name, was coached by Allan Skipp and Zsolt Vadaszffy amongst others . She competed at all three weapons in British Open competitions and in foil and epee events in Europe, most notably in France , Belgium and the Nederlands.
In 2000 Jenny was part of a British Fencing guinea –pig group to re-train with Hungarian mentors, Gabor Bognor, Zsolt Nemeth and Peter Frolich. In 2004 Jenny was also privileged to assist Istvan Lukovich on a Summer Course . Jenny joined the England TA team in 2005 as an assistant Foil Coach; having already established a very successful County Training Day Programme for BB&O which went on to produce dozens of BYC qualifiers and medallist and over 15 Cadet and Junior GB Squad members , covering all three weapons. Subsequently Jenny became the regular Epee Coach for the England Tomorrows Achievers – with occasional forays back into sabre.
In 2006 and 2007 Jenny was assistant Foil Coach to the British contingent for Challenge Wratislava. 2008 and Jenny was the England Epee Team Coach for the 15th Children’s International Fencing Championship in Wroclaw.
In 2009 Jenny was once again the England Foil Coach for the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Penang . Jenny was the longest serving England Coach for the Sainsburys UK School games , covering all three weapons in Cardiff 2009, Womens foil and epee in Newcastle in 2010 and Womens and Mens epee in Sheffield 2011. In 2012 she was again the England Foil Coach for the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Jersey.
Nominated as a National Academy Coach , Jenny was the CEOPs lecturer for both England TA’s and the National Academy. She has regularly run Summer Training Courses with Steven Davey and in 2013 was part of Coaching team involved in the 4th International Training Camp at Bocholt, working with and alongside the likes of Michael Pederson ( the Canadian National Coach ) Marc Pichon ( the Belgian National Coach ), Jeroen Divendal ( the Nederlands National Coach ) Philipp Stein and Nelson Loyola ( the Cuban International) .
