Steven Davey

Steven started fencing at school in Scotland in 1976. He represented the Scotland schools in the Schools  Quandrangular Matches. After Steven joined the army in 1979, he represented the army for more than 15 
years. He was combined service champion at Earl’s court in 1992, 3 times army champion and he was twice master in arms (3 weapons competition).
In 1980 Steven started coaching and became a professional coach in 1996, when he left the army.  He was the first UK coach to obtain his international diploma on a university course in Hungary in 2001.
Steven has led one junior fencer to the 1999 Junior World Championships in Spain, one junior pentathlete to the 2005 World Championships in Czech Republic and one cadet fencer to the 1st Junior Commonwealth Games in India and also to the Cadet World Championships in Korea in 2006.  Steven is also coaching other individuals both Junior and Senior who are achieving this standard and are aiming for the 2007 Championships.
